I watched a video called This will Revolutionize Education. For me, the most significant point from the video emphasized how technology was not in fact replacing teachers. Instead, teachers should be utilizing technology in the class. The video pointed out how people have always said that technology will replace teachers, but that has yet to happen. Even though there are many instances of teachers using technology in place of face-to-face teaching, there is still a level of interaction among teachers and students.
In a way, this video actually supports my teaching philosophy. My philosophy states that "each student has something that can be offered to class, be it knowledge, or ideas on how new ideas can be shared/taught." Students can share ideas about how technology can be used in my classroom, which would also help me learn from what they have to offer. Students would also be able to show how technology can be used to improve the content that I use, and how technology can improve their learning of that content.
